Porsche Towson a dealership out of Baltimore, Maryland now accepts payments for vehicles in Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu among others. The service was confirmed by the crypto payment provider BitPay.
- BitPay provides various businesses with the opportunity to accept crypto payments through their own API. In December 2021, BitPay added $SHIB to their list of accepted cryptocurrencies.
- BitPay currently supports various cryptocurrencies such as; Bitcoin ($BTC), Ethereum ($ETH), Dogecoin ($DOGE), Shiba Inu ($SHIB), and 5 USD-pegged stablecoins. BitPay processed a total of 76,583 transactions in March with Bitcoin making up more than half of these.
- Porsche Towson listed a Brand New 2022 Porsche Cayenne SUV on their website for US$95,880. In $DOGE this is 677,765, $SHIB is 3,800,237,812, and in $BTC this is 2.25.
- Back in 2013, a Texas family made headlines after selling their 2007 Porsche Cayman S for 300 Bitcoins, around $39,000 at the time. This move is currently worth US$12,788,580.
