Bitcoin Core, which decides the blocks that contain valid transactions, may natively support Apple Silicon M1 Chips in their new update.

  • Web3 developer Zhixiong Pan discovered that a macOS ARM build was quietly released by the Bitcoin Core client on GitHub. “This will likely be the first version of Bitcoin Core to natively support Apple Silicon (M1 family) chips,” stated Pan
  • This will allow Bitcoin Core to be run using MacOS on an M1 chip without any extra coding needed to do so.
  • The compiled version is expected to be released in Bitcoin Core v23.0, which should be released in the coming weeks. Once released users will be able to implement the new code into their own Bitcoin Core node.
  • The next update to Bitcoin Core will be v24.0, this is expected in October says Pan, using Bitcoin Core’s half-yearly update frequency.

https://t.co/bkF1DBUV7y
