Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has announced a new app for its proprietary AI assistant. The app is called the Meta AI app, and it allows users to personalize their AI assistant to suit their specific needs.
“Today, we’re launching the first version of the Meta AI app: the assistant that gets to know your preferences, remembers context, and is personalized to you,” the company stated in a blog post. The post also confirmed that this is only the first version of the app and that users may find technical difficulties while using it. Meta claims that it will incorporate the feedback into later versions.

The key selling point of this new app is its ability to adapt. According to Meta, the app is “built to get to know” the user. It can remember the user’s preferences and offer highly personalized suggestions.
The app was built using Llama 4, the same Large Language model used to build the AI assistant. Meta AI was already available on other platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Messenger. However, a dedicated app is said to offer a more personalized experience to users.
The new app comes equipped with full-duplex speech technology, which delivers a more natural conversational toe, according to Meta. This feature is currently only available in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The app also has a Discover feed, which allows users to share their experience using the AI.
The Meta AI app is available on both Android and iOS. The company has also updated the web version of Meta AI to offer similar.
