EtherRock #44 from NFT collection EtherRock

EtherRock #44, an NFT valued at around US$1,000,000 was accidentally listed for 444 Wei (>US$0.0000001), rather than 444 Ether (US$1,151,000).

Former owner Dino, posted about the unfortunate event on Twitter.

How's your week?

Mine? I just erroneously listed @etherrock #44 for 444 wei instead of 444 eth?‍♂️

Bot sniped it in the same block and trying to flip for 234 eth

In one click my entire net worth of ~$1 million dollars, gone

Is there any hope?

Am I GMI?

The EtherRock was instantly purchased and relisted by a bot, within the same block, with Dino requesting an Etherscan refund. This has so far been unsuccessful.

Although a very costly mistake, Dino has made his peace with the situation, agreeing it was more of an “easy come, easy go” situation.

Exactly, and the controls are the same whether transacting $1 or $1 billion. It’s just a line of data and a click of a button.
