Ruja Ignatova has been added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives after rugging more than US$4B from investors.

  • According to the FBI, Ignatova is “wanted for her alleged participation in a large-scale fraud scheme,” this is in relation to OneCoin, a Ponzi scheme that went bust in 2017.
  • The last Ignatova was seen was boarding a plane from Bulgaria to Greece in 2017. She fled after bugging her boyfriend’s apartment only to find out he was cooperating with the FBI. There is currently a US$100,000 reward for any information leading to her arrest.
  • OneCoin started off in 2014 by offering customers commission if they sold the currency to more people, despite never officially launching a cryptocurrency in the first place.
