Alibaba Group’s digital technology and intelligence division, Alibaba Cloud, has created a launchpad for businesses to deploy metaverses on Avalanche blockchain.
Dubbed Cloudverse, the platform announced on May 4 at the Avalanche Summit II Conference in Barcelona would enable the businesses on Alibaba Cloud to customize, launch, and maintain their own metaverse spaces and establish channels to engage their customers. All the aspects of Cloudverse, including digital land and wearables, would reportedly be based on Avalanche.
John Wu, President of Ava Labs, commented concerning the unveiling that “Alibaba Cloud and Avalanche continue to change how enterprises can create value and seize the opportunities of Web 3. He added, “Cloudverse powered by Avalanche offers millions of customer-facing businesses a quick, low-overhead, one-stop gateway into Web 3.”
Supported By Metaverse Universal Assets DAO
Metaverse Universal Assets DAO (also called MUA DAO) is the third partner in the arrangement whose role would be to provide the middleware – the service layer for the integration and customization of the metaverses Alibaba Cloud clients would build.
‘‘With the rising popularity of blockchain technology and the metaverse, there is a strong demand from businesses in the Asia-Pacific region planning to enter the web3 world,’’ commented Raymond Xiao, Head of International Web 3 Solutions, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
The offering is the latest step by the technology giant in its progress in Web 3 since it first teamed up with Avalanche in 2022 to deploy an infrastructure-as-a-service platform for users in Asia to launch node validators.
